NBCUniversal is celebrating its 100th anniversary, and in a press release, they've shared some exciting news about the future of Epic Universe. But here's where it gets controversial... While the company has shared many of its accomplishments over the years, including successful films like Jurassic Park and Despicable Me, as well as iconic events like Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, the details of Epic Universe's expansion plans remain a mystery.
According to the release, NBCUniversal is scaling immersive experiences and expanding Universal Epic Universe, developing a new theme park in the United Kingdom, and introducing new formats like Universal Kids Resort and year-round horror experiences in Chicago and Las Vegas. However, the release doesn't provide any specific details about the expansion plans for Epic Universe itself.
Epic Universe opened on May 22, 2025, but it's still not operating at full capacity. There are plans for expansion, though, as a permit has been filed for a rumored event space in Celestial Park, and work has begun on the Harry Potter expansion. So, while we know that Epic Universe is expanding, the specifics of what that means for the park remain a mystery.
